'Coming to choir has been one of the best things
I've done this year, so thanks for all your hard work and inspiration'. Romie

Voice of the People

Voice of the People is a non-audition community choir based in Somerset. Directed by Yvette Staelens, we welcome anyone who would like to come and sing with us. Not sung in a choir before? Come with friends and give us a try. Absolutely NO solo singing. Shower and bath tub singers especially welcome.

We meet on Thursdays at at Broomfield Village Hall, TA5 2EQ from 5 - 6.30 pm and at the Quaker Meeting House, High St, Wellington, Somerset TA21 8RA from 8- 9.30 pm.

We share the same repertoire which means that we perform together when asked. We sing songs in harmony from around the world. Everything is taught aurally, with sound files and words provided as required. So no need to read music.

We perform occasionally at street events, do occasional concerts and we tour annually to Europe, meeting and performing with other choirs. Thus far we have been to Krakow, Prague, Moravia, Italy, France, Hungary, Slovenia and in October 2016 we will be singing in Croatia.
